Evian has for many years conducted, participated in and supported scientific research in areas related to water.
Did you know, for instance, that the isotopic method that makes it possible to determine the elevation at which an aquifer is recharged was developed by scientists on the evian watershed during the 1970s?
Or that evian has one of the longest time series in the world, more than 50 years, of a water molecule component that allows the age of groundwater to be established?
On the strength of these many years of experience, the Water Institute manages, conducts, participates in and co-funds scientific research projects in the field of water resources and their protection. It hosts and trains students and PhD students and is also committed to hosting and collaborating with scientists, in particular those from developing countries.
